Directions: During one week, your group will post your research terms. The schedule is provided in the weekly expectations area. Each group member will post three research terms. I have provided an example below. Please make sure you include all elements of the entry for your term. Please do not duplicate terms. This means you will need to read through what your peers have written, and, unfortunately, you will not be able to complete work ahead of time.
As a group, you are to create a new page for where your terms will be post your terms. If you have another idea of how you would organize your terms, please email me.
Please keep in mind that the nature of a wiki is open. Therefore, be careful when you add to and edit the wiki. You could delete someone else's work. Also, keep in mind that in addition to the content of your entires I will be looking at the design of your entries. I encourage you to use good design principles. Feel free to take advantage of the media elements that a wiki allows. You can link to other Web resources and so forth. The goal, however, is to provide solid descriptions of the research terms. Finally, make sure you use proper APA formatting for your reference. The only element that is tricky is indenting your reference after the second line. I am not concerned with this aspect. With your scholarly paper, I will want you to make sure you indent.

Research studies, such as Dickey’s (2004) recent blog study, have provided me with suggestions for how I can use blogs in my classroom. The study found that the use of blogs helps bridge a learner’s feelings of isolation. These implications have inspired me to try a reflective blog with my 6 th grade Social Studies class – asking them to make weekly comment on aspects of our lessons, and giving those students, who are shy and less likely to participate in the face-to-face classroom, a chance to provide their perspectives and opinions. I will ask students if they want other students to read their blogs and, if they do, I will offer these URLs to members of the class.
